One of the best things about running an online business is that a large portion of it can be automated. I make sales every single day while I’m sleeping. Things that I’ve put together two years ago automatically make me sales every day.
Now, everything in your online business can’t be automated. Shocker right?
I mean, technically you could automate creating content, videos and emails, but it wouldn’t do you much good. I haven’t read too many automated blog posts that have made me want buy someones product.
But on the other hand, automation certainly has its place.
So let me give you some examples:
Automate Email marketing
When I think of automating an online business email marketing is the first thing that comes to mind. Email marketing can be 100% automated once you have created the content. It works by using an aut responder Service such as Aweber or Get Response.
These programs allow you to have email sequences or pre written emails that you have scheduled delivery from the time that someone signs up. So automatically a person is sent an email every so many days based on how you set it up. This is automation at its finest because you can deliver content in sales emails automatically without having to do any extra work.
Automating Product delivery
If you sell information products you definitely want to automate the delivery of them. Especially when you start to make a large amount of sales you don’t wanna try to send your products manually to your customers. It’s too much hassle, too much headache, and a lot of your emails or messages will end up in your customers spam box. (The last thing that we want.)
Using services such as Getdpd will automate delivery of your products. And take any work from you completely out of the loop.
Automated Content promotion
Some content promotion such as social sharing can be automated. There are WordPress plugins that can take care of this as well as services like IFTTT.
Now automated sharing won’t always have the same results but it can save a ton of time.
Automated Alerts and notifications
Alerts can be setup for a number of reasons. I use alerts for things like keywords and my business name. When my keyword or business is mentioned online I get notifications. This can be done with services like Google Alerts.
Automating Content aggregation
Content aggregation can be used for pulling together a lot of information about your market. You can use it to get content ideas, content curation, or just to stay up on what’s trending in your industry.
Tools like Feedly make it easy to aggregate a lot of feeds in one spot.
If you’re able to automate some of these tasks you will be able to spend more time on the things that matter most to your online business.
