Blueprinting is something no one talks about but it’s such an essential piece to building a successful online business. A blueprint creates a map. How to get from point A to point B.
Where are you now and where do you want to be?
Now there are a lot of variables but sometimes it’s a simple formula that you can calculate.
Blueprinting Your Online Business Example
Let’s take an example:
Let’s say that currently you make $1,000 a month online and you want that to be $10,000 a month.
And let’s say that each subscriber on your list is worth the $10 a month. So if you’re making a $1,000 a month then you have 100 subscribers on your list.
And let’s say that for every guest post that you do you get 10 new subscribers on your list.
No it just becomes simple math and you can blueprint how to get from $1,000 a month to $10,000 a month.
You know that your list is worth $10 a subscriber. So if you want to get to $10,000 a month you need 1000 subscribers. You know that you currently have 100 subscribers on your list and you know that you get roughly 10 new subscribers for every guest post that you do. So this means that you can do 90 guest post to get 900 new subscribers.
And this will get you to the $10,000 a month range. Now these are just examples but you can apply these same principles to what you’re doing online. It doesn’t matter if its guest posting or putting videos on YouTube you can do the math to see what works.
Another approach using the same example would be to look at your conversion rate. If you were getting 10 new subscribers for every guest post that you do maybe you could tweek your squeeze page to capture more subscribers. If you could get your conversion rate up and get 20 new subscribers for every new blog post then you could do half as many guest post to reach your target.
Other Ways To Meet Your Goals
Or another way to look at it is find a way to increase the value per subscriber. How could you convert more subscribers into customers.? Or get more customers to spend even more money. This could be done by adding more products to your funnel, raising the prices of your products, or possibly adding high ticket offers or coaching programs to your funnel.
The sad thing is, most marketers and bloggers never do this. And it’s really unfortunate because it can give you a plan to get to where you want to be. Of course it will never be perfect and the variables will change. But, it gives you a direction and something to measure as you move towards your goals.
