Today I want to talk about that something that is just so important to running a successful blog. Especially if you’re looking to build an authority blog. The topic I’m gonna discuss today is really what separates the big successful bloggers from the unsuccessful people or the mediocre bloggers that are never able to make the jump to a full time blogger.
What i’m talking about is networking. Networking is basically building a relationship with other like-minded people or power players in your market. Authorities in your market.
For a lot of people there’s a couple things that are holding them back from networking. It usually starts with fear of networking. They are scared to get out there and contact people that can make a difference in their business. It can be scary contact people who are way above where you stand in your online business.
To overcome this fear you should start small. You want to build relationships with your peers first. People that are close to your level. This will not only provide some networking opportunities for you but it will also help you become more comfortable with the networking process and conversing with others in your market.
Another reason that holds people back from networking is thinking they can do everything themselves. So they carry on without networking and picking up big opportunities.
The other big reason is people fear that they would be working with or helping the competition if they teamed up with others in their niche.
This one is scary and really set you up for failure. You have to be able to talk to your competition. There is a good chance there is differences among you and different selling points for each of you. You can grow your audiences together working with one another. You can use this to build your own authority and your own business.
Just remember you can start small with networking. You dont have to start by going out there and contacting all the a-list bloggers in your market. Start simple by just sharing others content and partaking in small interactions in your niche. From there start notifying others when you share their content or just start building a relationship with them letting them know you love the content they are putting out. Always be genuine of course but start the networking process.
I cant stress how important is for a blogger to network. It’s a huge part of being a successful authority blogger.
