Can You Make Money With Affiliate Marketing? Until you have actually made money from a blog you often question whether its even real. Well I can assure it’s real and today I am going to share with you 7 powerful tips to make money from your blog with affiliate marketing.
How To Do Affiliate Marketing On A Blog
The first time I made an affiliate commission I was blown away. The thought of putting a simple link on my blog and making money from it was amazing. “You mean, I don’t have to create the product…I just link to it in a blog post and the magic happens?” But it isn’t always as easy as putting a link on your blog and making money. There is a lot that goes into creating an affiliate marketing blog that actually makes money.
And I’m assuming since you’re reading this article you want to make some affiliate commissions from your blog. This list of affiliate marketing tips should set you up to make your first affiliate commission if you focus.
So lets dig into it.
7 Affiliate Marketing Tips for Bloggers
Tip 1 – Create Ultimate Resource Blog Posts That Have Affiliate Links
I am sure you have seen an “Ultimate” style blog post before. These are blog posts that typically are at least 2,000 words on a specific topic and serve as the ultimate guide. These types of posts can be great money makers for affiliate bloggers because people love them! If you can put together one or a couple of these guides in your niche they can become very popular blog posts. People share them, people like them, people comment on them, etc.
Now Imagine if you had one of these posts with your affiliate links throughout to certain things you recommend. Essentially people are sharing your affiliate links around the web because you provided great content.
Tip 2 – Promote affiliate products that you actually use
Not only is this an easy way to promote products but it also builds credibility. These work great because you can actually demonstrate using the product or explain in detail what you like and what you don’t.
Tip 3 – Link To Reviews And Affiliate Links
While this sounds obvious a lot of people forget about it. Every time you write a blog post look for opportunities to link to your affiliate product reviews or link directly to an affiliate product with your affiliate link. A lot of bloggers create a review for a product and never use their affiliate link again. This is a missed opportunity that can cost you a lot of money as an affiliate marketer.
Tip 4 – Promote Affiliate Products Beyond Your Blog
Your blog isn’t the only place you can make affiliate commissions. With your blog you will most likely build up an email list and possibly social media followings. Use those additional sources as places to promote your affiliate offers. Anytime you write a review or have a great offer to promote post it on your blog, email your list about it, and post it out on your social media groups. This will result in a lot of extra commissions. And don’t forget that your email list probably includes your biggest fans so they are most likely the ones to buy.
Tip 5 – Promote Relevant Affiliate Products
A mistake I see a lot of bloggers make is trying to promote every product out there. Think about what you audience wants and keep it relevant to them. Don’t just promote to make a commission. Always keep your audiences best interest in mind and you will make more in the end.
Tip 6 – Offer Bonuses On Affiliate Products
This is a technique used by most super affiliates. The key is to offer a bonus that is so good that people will buy through your affiliate link just to get your bonus. Sometimes people won’t even want the product but the bonus is so good they buy anyways.
Bonuses can be easy to create. I like to add additional training to what the product has to offer. For example, if I promoted a product about email marketing I would create an additional training as a bonus that would entice people to buy through my affiliate link. I might create a product that shows people how to build their email list. I might create an email marketing cheat sheet. I might do a live training where I show people how I am going to implement the training within the product, etc. There are a bunch of ways to do it and you will make a lot more sales by offering affiliate product bonuses.
Tip 7 – Don’t give up on affiliate marketing too soon
Many bloggers give up before they start making good money with affiliate marketing. Don’t give up before you hit pay dirt! Affiliate marketing blogs take time to get traction but once they do they become passive income machines. I get paid for blog posts I created 2 and 3 years ago on many of my blogs. Why? Because people find those old blog posts with my affiliate links and buy.
Imagine if everyday for the next year you created a blog post that links to affiliate products you are promoting or affiliate reviews you have created. At the end of the year you would have 365 potential passive income machines working for you. Sure, all of them won’t bring in commissions but a good percentage of them will. Whats stopping you from succeeding with affiliate marketing and blogging?
