If you have followed me for any length of time or if you are on my email list you are probably well aware that I have many products for sale. I create a lot of products to teach my audience what they need to know and answer their needs. And I’m sure that your audience has a lot of needs and products that you could create to answer those needs.
But maybe right now creating a product takes you a long time. That’s what I want to conquer for you today. After you finish reading this today I want you to be able to create awesome products and do it fast.
If you are not sure what type of product to create you can view my post on 23 Different types of products you can create and sell on your website.
Before we dig into it I want to crush a few myths
“Products Have To Be Extremely In-Depth”
Many people think that in order to create a product you have to cover every single thing in extreme detail about a specific topic. For example, if you are creating a product on list building they think it has to be an all-inclusive product. A product covering every aspect of building a list.
In actuality a product doesn’t have to be anything close to that. It could be a product on a specific method to build your list. It could be just on creating squeeze pages. It could be on how to optimize your blog to build a list.
There are many different angles you could take and those are just examples. But the point is is that you can focus on specific areas of your topic to create a product. It doesn’t have to be all inclusive and extremely in depth.
Now I pride myself in creating quality products for my audience but when I create a product I’m not creating a product about everything you need to know about affiliate marketing. Or everything you need to know about blogging. Or everything you need to know about product creation. I focus on specific elements within those three niches and topics to cover in my products.
Second Myth About Product Creation
“Products have to be perfect”
People often focus so hard on creating the perfect product that they give up before they are finished. Or they spend months and months perfecting something that could have been released months ago.
If you are falling into that trap think about this:
Even some of the biggest software development companies out there release software before it’s completely finished. Essentially they’re releasing an unfinished or imperfect version of the product. They then take user feedback and enhance the software to a finished product.
A product doesn’t have to be perfect. I would rather release a product with some spelling and grammar errors that changes people’s lives now then wait 3 months later to fix a couple of spelling and grammar errors. Changing people’s lives and helping my audience now is more important than putting that off for a few mistakes here and there. This is a huge mindset shift to becoming successful online.
How I Am Able To Create Products Fast
1. I know my niche and topics extremely well.
Working in my niche and growing everyday has allowed me to become an expert in the areas in which I teach. This allows me to sit down behind the microphone, behind the video camera, or start typing away without a lot of research and create a quality product. I am able to provide a lot of great insight off the top of my head.
2. I have a solid product creation method that works.
The method that I share in the Authority Product Blueprint is exactly how I create my products. It’s based on picking a hot topic in your niche where your audience has needs and creating a product around it. Then it’s all about listing the benefits of your products and creating an outline. And once you have the outline it is easy to create your product fast.
3. I Dedicate Time To Product Creation Every Week
Creating products is one of the core elements of my business and revenue. Therefore I am working on it every week. I have made a shift in my business to be very productive and only work on the core elements of my business when I’m working. This means I’m not answering emails. Not browsing the web. It means I’m working on the core elements that drive my business and bottom line. Product creation is a huge part of that.
4. Specific Needs, Specific Product
When I create a product I pick a specific problem to help my audience overcome and create a product about it. The majority of my products answer one need or problem. They are not all inclusive products that I spoke about earlier.
5. Focus on Value Not Perfection
Finally, I don’t focus on perfection I focus on value. I don’t spend months and months getting every single detail right when I create a product. Instead I focus on creating great value for my customers and giving them exactly what they need.
This is how I am able to create a lot of products fast. And it is also how I’ve been able to build out a backend sales funnel that pays me again again even when I’m not launching a product.
